I asked for my steak to be well done and I received it as med rare to rare! The waiter returned the steak and I received another cooked to my liking only after my group had all but finished their dinner! The meat itself had a good deal of gristle and was a good chew to swallow! Enjoyed the flavour of the sauce!

The service was excellent, the food delicious, and the place very clean and nice. The only issue was that they turned off the music before my wife and I had finished eating. We were the last ones there and felt pressured to leave. It would have been better if the waiter had told us they were closing soon instead of turning off the music. However, it wasn't a big deal.

That was the best tortier that I have ever tasted - the pastry was amazing, the meat filling was meaty,perfectly spiced and the gravy was the piece de resistance! The vegetables were so fresh and delish. Can I buy pies from you - I’ll take 4 please but I will come back - I loved your garden patio setting but the train car is such a delightful place to dine - merci!

Great experience. This is a non rushed seating. They give you two hours for your reservation. I love that the food came out with plenty of time between everything. It made this evening a wonderful experience. Tried something different and I enjoyed it. Helped me understand different flavors. Waitress was great. We sat in the train car. It was so cute. I will be back for the dessert cart!!

The first two felt guilty about eating because our plates hadn't arrived. Not a big concern, but thought I would bring it to your attention.

Sevice was not the best. The wait for the food took too long. Food was probably ready way before we got it served, it was not warm. Way too much salt on the fries. Waiter was not in our area to discuss our disappointm. He was finally found and said that I would have the steak warmed up. This was our 25th anniversary. In the end my wife ate her cold dinner,while I waited another 15 min for the warmed up dinner. By then the filet was dried out. The ambience was nowhere to be seen. We have gone a number of times before. Lastly, when we entered your restaurant, we noticed a damp basement smell. And finally , the waiter removed my steak from the bill. Alot of disappointm ent

The whole experience was amazing and the food was so so sumptuous, chock-full of flavour and the railway carriage was decked out so beautifully. I especially loved the Carousel. It has been a while since I dined at Resto Gare as I have been away from Winnipeg and I have to say the experience made me want to come back again, again and again. The service was wonderful. Friendly service, lovely atmosphere and amazing food. This place offers amazing value. The only thing I would mention is that my shrimp tasted a little fishy, or not as fresh. But everything else was great! We’ll be back.

The ambience of the restaurant is top notch. It feels like going back in time to an old time dining car. There is nostalgic French music in the background. The servers were very attentive and patient as well. Finally, the food was fantastic. i had a prime rib and my wife had the duck confit. The food was arranged beautifully on the plate and tasted marvelous. I was recommended the restaurant by my hotel. The Ft. Garry as I requested a go to Winnipeg dining experience, since I am from out of town. We certainly had the experience we hoped for!
