Langside Grocery is a unique gem, a small little pub nestled on a tiny quaint neighbourhood corner where the Langside Grocery store once resided. The manager and staff are amazing and just what you'd hope for to accompany such creative, delicious food in the most wonderful setting. The dinners at each of the little tables were talking between one another by midway through dinner, the atmosphere was so wonderful.... and it was Valentines Day.

This place is a complete delight! The most delicious cocktails…I recommend the Clover Club (inspired by the Rat Pack of Las Vegas…has raspberry syrup - yummy!)
Really nice staff - I just love it there!

A great venue for different food. The neighborhood isn't the best but on a Monday it was a lot of locals walking around. I feel it would be unsafe to park on a weekend. The ambiance & unique cocktails were outstanding. Food choices were sparse and portions small. I liked everything we ordered but wished there was more to choose from.

The cocktail menu was beautiful. Wish we could have tried them all. The ambiance was trendy, quirky and exactly what we expected. The food was well prepared and tailored to a specific taste, which we enjoyed. Our first server (perhaps tending bar?) was joyful, attentive and knowledgeable about the food and drink available. Our dinner server was curt, preoccupied, not as knowledgeable and not what we would expect from a boutique restaurant such as this.
Overall, very enjoyable. We will return.

The vibes of the restaurant were great and the music playing was 10/10. Only thing is our server was terrible. I was there Friday night and from the moment my friend and I walked through the door she seemed annoyed to have to seat us. The restaurant was not busy, yet, our server was not attentive. My friend ordered rosé and asked for it to be sparkling, she annoyingly answered “we don’t have rosé that’s carbonated.” After we got our drinks my friend decided she did not like her drink. We felt bad cause we didn’t wanna send it back but we politely asked if we could switch out her drink to what I got (sparkling wine). Our server goes “um I DID tell you that the rosé wasn’t sparkling.” with attitude and disgust. I wasn’t going to say anything because I didn’t want a person to ruin my experience but it is still bothering me and I have been thinking about it all day. It was both our first times attending your place. The bar had great ambience and great food/drinks but the service left a bad taste in our mouthes.

We were given an hour at our table even though it was a reservation. Service was slow so we had to move tables. Really unprofessional. Told there were items unavailable but then someone else ordered it after us. Walnut dip was really spicy, I hate spice. Pasta was really lacklustre especially for the price, only ordered it because there was so few options.

Hello, my past visits to Langside Grocery have been largely positive, but this last evening was a bit of a disappointment. I wanted to treat a friend from out of town to a special evening of good cocktails and food, and to show off a great spot in my neighborhood. There must have been something amiss with the staff that evening. The service was rushed, and the food took way too long to arrive. Our last dish (we ordered 5 in total) arrived 3 hours after we ordered it, and then only because we reminded our server that it hadn't come yet. A dish arrived about every half hour. Our cocktails were good and arrived promptly. We were sitting on the patio at my request, but were swatting a lot of mosquitoes. A number of other patrons moved inside to escape the bugs, but we decided to stay outside as it was a beautiful evening. I did think that a couple of mosquito coils would have improved the situation.
The main beef though was with the slow food presentation. And I have to say the crispy potatoes were more burnt than crispy.
I'll try the Grocery again, because I want to support what is usually a great spot in my hood, but hoping for a better experience next time.

It felt like our server was having a bad day. And, with several things not available on the menu and no gluten free options (you were out of rice crackers) it was very limited food wise. You really really really need to improve your gluten free choices. This has always been a challenge.

We were impressed with the quality design and heritage restoration. We loved the courtyard patio setting! We also appreciated that the serving staff seemed sincere and unpretentious. While we did order alcoholic beverages, we appreciated that you offer non-alcoholic beverages, which is a real plus and will make us more likely to return with non-drinking friends. The one big disappointment was that we couldn’t order decaf coffee. I ended up ordering a caffeinated coffee to have with dessert, but really regretted it as I tossed and turned and couldn’t fall asleep until after 4:00 am. I understand it’s difficult with espresso machines, but at least have the option of a simple French press decaf coffee.

As always, great ambience. The service was really lacking. Our server was new, which I’m understanding of. However, she seldom checked in and we continued to want to order more food and drinks, which we weren’t able to get because of this. We also ordered a bottle of wine, and she brought out 2 glasses of wine. A fair mistake and she took the glasses back to get us the bottle. But another server then came out with the two glasses and the bottle they were poured from saying that was the last bottle and it had been opened to only to pour our glasses as that was the last bottle of this wine. Again, fine, however the etiquette and the way in which the more experienced server approached this was assuming this was fine instead of offering alternatives. The appetizers were pretty bad - the “crispy crackers” that came with the warm Brie were cheap Breton crackers. Overall, the quality of this restaurant has gone down considerably in recent years. The ambience is always lovely. The cocktails were great. But the service and food quality was truly not good. I never write negative reviews, however, I hope that maybe sharing this will allow for improvement since I do love this establishment.

My wife and I love the building and feel of the restaurant. Perfect combination of lighting and sound and of course the historic element of the building. The service was incredible and staff answered all our questions and were super friendly and attentive throughout or dinner. The food was also great and we loved all of the dishes we chose but the short rib stood out as the absolute best! Perfectly cooked and delicious! I have already been telling all our friends and family that they must get in to Langside Grocery on their next trip to Winnipeg! Oh and also the penicillin cocktail that I ordered is one of, if not the best, cocktail I have ever had in my life! Truly a great experience for both of us to celebrate my wife’s birthday! Thank you!

The space is absolutely lovely, very warm and comfortable. We weren’t a fan of the cat trying to jump on us as we ate. The charcuterie was excellent - cheeses were amazing. Meats were very average. I would like to see some smaller cuts that don’t resemble something I would get at Superstore. Cocktails were great, tartare tasted great but was of a very course chop which didn’t make for a great texture.

Went to Langsidegrocery with friends recently to celebrate a special occasion. We all loved our evening; the food, the drinks, the atmosphere. Even Trixie wandered in for a few minutes! Service was knowledgable, friendly and professional. We will definitely be back. The Langsidegrocery is a hidden gem!

Super dark, it needs more lights. Basically, It was impossible to read the menú, or see the food.
The food it’s expensive for nothing.

It was a delightful evening. Food and drinks (for the most part) was delicious. First drinks - thanks to staff for suggestion. We both got the right drink and it was delicioius. Brie great, Shrimp cocktail really wonderful and delicious, salad was good but not everyonel likes kale so suggestion is to add other lettuce,
Pasta just great but unfortunately the sausage was overcooked, But we were looked after. The table was not clean as it should have been but wiped immediately. Overall a very good experience. My husband won't be back but very likely I'll will be. I have told others how nice the experience was.
