We had two excellent meals at The Lobster Pot during our brief stay in Ireland. The venue, staff and food were of the highest standard and we were made to feel very welcome. Whilst the prices were on the slightly high side compared to some other venues you do get what you pay for. All in all I would thoroughly recommend The Lobster Pot to locals and visitors alike as a must visit site.

As always, great service and food in general. I did have to remind the server to get our drinks order and they arrived at the same time as our mains. But it was all good as my Prosecco was filled to the brim as a sorry!

Good to see this famous restaurant back in business. We enjoyed our dinner and will most likely go again. It must be said though, that the cooking , while perfectly acceptable, is not yet of the standard set by the Ahearne family . I was disappointed that my fish in the Fish and Chips option had not been skinned prior to the batter. On the other hand, the chips were excellent. The sea bass was very nicely cooked and was enjoyed. Prawn cocktail was nice but small and overpriced, while the fish cakes were well flavoured, but a little greasy. This review is not intended as nasty criticism, but hopefully as encouragement to the kitchen . The Lobster Pot is a destination place. Make the drive out worthwhile. Best of luck

It’s a lovely venue in a nice setting albeit a bit remote. Food was good but not exceptional.. imo to survive in this location outside town you need to have excellent food. Some details niggled - fake battery candle on table looked really tacky imo - don’t bother unless you use real candles or at least attractive fake ones.. also menu had limited selection of seafood but this is a seafood restaurant or so I thought.. also we were charged 11.50 Euro for a standard size glass of Sauvignon Blanc.. I think this is way ott.. it was very quiet when we were there for lunch on a Sunday - atmosphere a bit lacking - could be helped by some music perhaps in background ? overall food was fine but not a wow factor.. more choice on menu would be nice too.

It’s dark inside the Restuarant lack of natural or artificial light. Quaint and traditional pub feel. Portions are good, attentive service. I didn’t order the lobster as it is a difficult protein to get right and I don’t want to be disappointed, I did see the dish being served to other diners and was some how glad I stayed away from the dish..it’s cooked with the shell on risky

Limited menu when we visited as only the Early Bird was available and we are both vegetarian/pescatarian. One piece of my fish was delicious, the other had no fish, just mushy, floury undercooked batter. Dessert was no better than a cafe cake (lemon meringue). Disappointing first visit unfortunately.
