Excellent Lunchtime. Booking straightforward and we arrived as a group of 6 walkers with 2 dogs (We had previously notified the pub at time of booking).

Staff as brilliant as always, friendly and efficient. Food as good as ever. Gave it a 9 just because the sirloin was a bit gristly but this should be expected of sirloin unless well trimmed. Top side or rib would have been better. Everything else was perfect. We are never disappointed with the Fox.

Lovely festive atmosphere, the Christmas lighting just right in the old beamed building and a log burner keeping us warm. Although it was a busy lunchtime, the staff were fantastic. Food was delicious - well done to the chef for the best mash I have had for a long time !

Enjoyed a good traditional Sunday roast lunch, served by friendly staff who worked tirelessly, yet always seemed in control. The pub was packed, yet the conversation level was not loud. Only thing I'd suggest is a signal suggesting wheelchair users to use the front entrance to gain entry, as the step in from the car park is quite a drop (manageable, as I proved, if you have good assistance). Happily recommend this place for future lunches.

The Fox was picked as a convenient meeting point between Petersfield and Basingstoke for four of us to meet up, we'd never been there before but we were all very happy with this choice. The staff are delightful, the bar/restaurant was fine, and we would love to return when the weather is a bit warmer and we could sit outside. The food was excellent, a wide menu and a few specials of the day and not too expensive. The only - really minor - niggle was being charged 50p extra for a scoop of ice cream rather than the sauce mentioned on the menu for one dessert. Seemed a tiny bit penny-pinching, although my cousin was asked in advance if she was OK with it. Otherwise we were all very impressed and told the staff that we would come back again soon. We never felt as if we were being rushed, which was a welcome change from some places who hassle their guests to move on. Thank you all for a lovely meal.

The Fox is my favourite pub in this area and I have visited with friends and family many times in the past . The 13th was my birthday and my sister and brother in law came up from Devon to treat me for lunch .I did come in the following day for a second birthday treat with my best friend . When we visit we always have fish finger sandwiches. Will be back again.
