In Japanese mythology, a Tanuki is a shapeshifting prankster, a playful creature with a big heart. We believe dining out should be a fun experience, serving up dishes that make you amused, inquisitive, and, most of all, happy. We love everything Japanese, but we also love the fun of modern American street food, so we did what we wanted to do... put them together for creations that are unique and unbelievably flavorful.

We love burgers! Back in 2006, there weren’t any places serving burgers using good quality ingredients, so we decided to serve burgers that we would make at home. We don’t mess with some burgers like the classic Bacon & Cheese, but we have lots of fun with the other burgers like our blue cheese, poached pear & walnut burger, the open charsiew burger and the paper-thin omelet wrapped Ramlee burgers. We know not everyone is into burgers, so there is also a range of brunch inspired dishes & pastas to suit most fancies on our menu.

Zenryoku Izakaya The Japanese word izakaya (居酒屋) is made up of three kanji with the meaning, in order, “stay-drink-place.” A spot to grab a drink, settle in, and get comfortable. Izakaya are different from bars in that diners are always seated (usually at a table or on tatami) and there is less opportunity for interaction with other customers. While drinking is a big part of it, there's also a constant stream of (shared) dishes.
