Our in-house Chef, Victor Passalacqua will undoubtedly give you a memorable experience of French Eclectic Cuisine.
Born in Peru, from Spanish and Italian decent, Victor found a passion in cooking and got his Hospitality Management education from L’Ecole de Lausanne in Switzerland. His search for perfection brought him to the kitchens of Grand Chefs like Paul Bocuse, Edward Merard, and Georges Blanc.
Before joining our team in Elk, Victor owned and operated various restaurants in Miami, FL.and was on the Culinary Board of Miami Dade Culinary Institute.
Together with his wife Melissa, who is a Certified Sommelier and a Wine Educator, they excel in the art of pairing food and wine, and hope to bring the best of both to your table

As usual our meals were absolutely perfectly delicious! Service is always a 10+ and the views are just breathtaking! Elk Cove Inn (Sibo) has been our consistently favorite restaurant for at least 4 years now and we are regulars of the Mendo coast since 2014. The menu has sooo many delectable offerings!

We ate here two nights in a row for our anniversary and we LOVED every minute of it. The cassoulet is one of the best dishes I have ever eaten, and the champignons were to die for! Food, service and sunset ocean views from the restaurant were some of the best ever! Melissa, the innkeeper and host, is personable, helpful and knowledgeable about the wine, the food origins (from their garden!) and the history of this lovely inn. The chef is extraordinary -- he produces the most delectable dishes we've tasted anywhere in our travels around the world. The french onion soup was rich and robust, the braised short ribs were tender with a luscious wine sauce and the apple galette's philo dough with fresh apples was mouth-watering. If you're in Mendocino, you must try this inn and restaurant - you won't be disappointed!

Every morsel was a scrumptious delight. Such flavors. From escargots and a sweet/savory baked brie to a fresh pasta dish piled high with an abundance of shellfish - scallops, mussels, clams, crab, calamari, giant prawns - in a delicate sauce. The Elk Cove Inn dining experience is always a solid 10 out of 10! Chef Victor creates delicious meals from locally sourced ingredients (some of which are grown or raised on site). The wonderful staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and feel right at home. We love the combination of a chef-inspired menu paired with the ambiance of a more casual dining atmosphere with a stunning view of the ocean. Our first visit to Elk Cove Inn was in 1984 and it’s only gotten better over the years. If you haven’t experienced a stay at the Inn, I would highly recommend!

I happened to catch an interview on the radio while driving to the market one day where owners Victor and Melissa were the guests -- that did it! I booked a table for my husband and me that week. The food, ambiance, service, and friendliness were all wonderful! I give them highest marks on all counts!
We had an amazing mushroom risotto (make sure to have it with the cream and mascarpone, it's to die for!), the soup a l'oignon was delicious, oozing with melted cheese to the brim! A favorite of my husband's.
I had the tuna tartare, which was super flavorful and the escargot, which was simply prepared and so very fresh!
We shared the osso buco, where the meat fell away from the bone without any effort!
Lastly, there was no dessert on the menu, but I was told that Melissa had picked some plums off their tree earlier that day, and decided to make a "little cake," "nothing extravagant and tart," she said. It was so perfectly crunchy on the edges and perfectly tart, it was no "little nothing" cake. It was delicious!
If you haven't been, make the trip! It's a gorgeous drive and the property itself has magnificent views of the ocean. Oh, and you do not want to miss meeting two of the most adorable, selfless and kind people ever!

The welcome by Ricky was very nice. He met us as we got out of our car and guided us to our room. We were very tired after a nine hour drive and having dinner in our room was just right. And, for takeout food, it was fine. The boeuf needed a little extra seasoning, but was just fine. It hit the spot.

The trout didn’t seem to be extremely fresh, but the preparation was superb.

Nothing could have been improved upon! Best dining experience I've ever had, start to finish. The Tuna Tartar and the Roasted Beet dish were truly unbelievably delicious. Thank you for your warmth, attention to detail, gorgeous property views, but mostly the amazing and delicious recipes and the wonderful friendliness of Melissa. We felt like old friends when we left! And we will be back!

Victor and Melissa prepared and served an outstanding meal! Escargot, Burrata, Salmon, & Trout we’re followed by spectacular deserts.
Melissa even warned us that although the preparation was French, the size of the portions was American so we might want to share early courses.
All of this overlooking the Pacific Ocean with a perfectly paired local wine started our Anniversary Celebration in great fashion!

We loved the friendliness of the staff and appreciated the sweet card and glass of champagne for our anniversary - so thoughtful. The view is absolutely spectacular. The menu is unique and appealing. The wine list is very nice. The service was efficient with minimal wait time between courses. Our appetizers and starters were very good. I adored the garden salad. Unfortunately both our main courses (rabbit and duck) were extremely tough so we couldn't eat much. The sauce and potatoes with the rabbit were delicious. I would say that if the main course had not been as it was, the value and the food would have been 10's as well.

I would give 20 stars if possible! Our dinner/experience celebrating our anniversary 8/7/22 might possibly be our best dinner & restaurant ever! Service was phenomenal, the grounds were gorgeous and so intriguing with the fresh gardens of lush veggies, beautiful flowers and the bees! The ocean views with giant rocks jutting from the sea were breathtaking. Melissa was such a joy to chat with about the place, the food & small talk. The other young lady was delightful as well with her sweet personality & fun sense of humor! I loved the romantic uplifting Parisian cafe music playing in the background so much I downloaded the music for myself as soon as we got home from the restaurant. The salad and veggies were literally the best I’ve ever eaten as they were all fresh picked just then from the garden. I completely stuffed myself. The fresh wild king salmon was to die for & the chocolate mousse was over the top! The quaint restaurant, chit chat with Melissa & her other half made us feel at home & like we’d been there a thousand times. I can’t say enough. It was truly a magical evening at SIBO! We will be your new regulars!

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Elk Cove Inn- we were taken care of the moment we stepped on the property. Our food and wine were of the highest quality and the service was fantastic. The food was Amazing - from the breakfast egg dishes veggies omelettes to the benedicts to the heuvo rancheris to the potato casserole to the dinner of delicious Salmon with a unique presentation to the best French Onion Soup I've ever tasted - more of a cream liquid instead of just simple broth. Oh the Chocolate Mousse too !!

We enjoyed our dinner on the deck outside of our room overlooking the ocean. Truly a lovely evening! The clam chowder was one of the best soups we have ever had! And the cold salmon platter was ample and delicious. Everyone at the Elk Cove Inn was welcoming, attentive, and a joy to talk with. We look forward to returning! HIGHLY recommend the Elk Cove Inn and their restaurant.

Absolutely Amazing! We ordered room service and this meal was for our 25th anniversary. They made it so special and gave us complimentary glass of champagne, brought us a candle and flowers in our tray of food which made our meal romantic. We ordered the Fresh Onion Soup, Baked Brie with apples & walnuts in a puff pastry, Salmon, Trout, Chocolate Mousse, Apple Crisp. Everything was so delicious!! Our favorites are the French Onion Soup, Baked Brie, Salmon, & Chocolate Mousse which is absolutely divine! We have stayed at this inn two other times it was the same absolutely perfect the room & food! Will be back over & over again!

Elk Cove Inn will not disappoint! The views from the rooms are magical. You can see and hear the ocean, and there is beach access. A full breakfast is included, and if you are lucky enough to make dinner reservations there, WOW! What a chef!! Spectacular!! Elk Cove is a quiet, beautiful Inn and we can’t wait to return.
