Kelly was very nice and welcoming. The problem was the noise level was high and the music was too loud. We did ask our waitress to lower the level as we had difficulty hearing our friends seated with us. The food was quite good. I would suggest that the menu be changed as it is very hard to read. Our waitress was also very pleasant. There were too many people waiting right behind us in the front of the restaurant waiting for a table. We felt all in all the wait time for our appetizers, meal, and dessert was too long of a to be served. We were there 2 hours.

The restaurant was freezing with the air conditioning up way too high. I’m a person is NEVER cold and I wore a sweatshirt and pants at dinner (and was still cold). the temperature made it hard to enjoy the experience! Also, my mother orders iced tea as her beverage of choice every time we eat out, and we were SHOCKED that this restaurant did not have iced tea. They had all soda products, but we do not drink soda. The food was very good but it was difficult to fully appreciate it.

One of the most delicious meals I have had. The staff is amazing, cocktails and wine list were on point. Gregg was our waiter and was attentive but also distant when he knew we were ok. Proposed to my girlfriend and they were very helpful to give us a nice little table way from everyone else. I would tell all my friends to go ti Via Emilia. Thank you for a great meal and great time!!

Lovely atmosphere, our appetizer Salumi E Formaggi was excellent, and the bar selections were wonderful as well. For my entree I ordered the veal chop which was served with mushrooms and fingerling potatoes. The veal chop was excellent but I was disappointed with the mushrooms. I was not sure what a "seacoast" mushroom was when I ordered the dish and I honestly did not like them very much (rubbery). Also the mushrooms and the fingerling potatoes were served lukewarm which I found odd considering that the veal chop was piping hot. I also ordered the Cavolfiore (cauliflower) which had an unexpected vinegar taste that I did not like. My companion had the Melanzane (eggplant) which was very good. However she ordered a side of pasta which was forgotten when the meal was served and brought out later once our waitress was reminded. A nice addition to downtown Mystic which I will try again.

The best restaurant!! The food and service was amazing. The one thing that would have elevated the experience was changing the music. It felt a little off (it was like Michael Buble type songs), and would have felt nicer if it was a little jazz or Italian music?

We had a totally delightful evening at Via Emilia. Our waiter was perfect never hovering but always attentive. The food was delicious. A special call out for the Caesar Salads (the best I’ve ever had). The pasta and one side veggie were scrumptious too and the wine list was perfect for by the glass or bottle. Bravo!

We pretty much loved everything about our birthday party experience here. The food was great, the drinks were great, the service was great. And we did not feel rushed at all. We had about 5 courses, so there was no rushing us. And I did mention it to the waitress and she took great care to ensure we had a wonderful 2-1/2 hour Italian experience. Thank you so much.

This was my second dining experience at Via Emilia and I already can’t wait till my third. I can’t say enough about how fabulous this restaurant is. Friendly welcome, great service, and the food is the best Mystic has to offer. We were sat with the best view of downtown in the place and appreciated the attentiveness of our server. I came once by myself and brought my mother this time and she agreed she hadn’t had a meal that good in a long time. I tell people to check it out all the time. Can’t wait to go back. See you soon. While Via Emila came recommended as a 'special night' experience, there was little we enjoyed. The 'roasted artichokes' were not fresh but had been brine, which was much of the taste, clashing with the yogurt and raisin sauce. This dish should only be fresh and grilled. Very disappointing for a lover of artichokes. The easiest dish - local clams in a white wine sauce with pasta was another huge disappointment - only 5 clams and lots of very chewy mushrooms. No mention of mushrooms on the menu and mushrooms are typically not part of the dish in New England or Italy. My companion asked for medium rare beef and got medium. Only the ricotta cheesecake and the Italian red wine were worth the money. There was a large and loud party upstairs. And the hostess called us 2 women 'you guys' all night, dressed in leggings and a sweatshirt like she was at the gym - unexpected at a restaurant that bills itself as 'fine dining' and charges like 'fine dining. My companion won't return. I might but not before I've tried every other restaurant in Mystic/Groton/Stonington/Westerly.

Hostess took us to the upstairs dining room and attempted to seat us right next to the only occupied table. We asked for a different table and received some attitude when she moved us. The adult beverage menu had no beer list. When I asked the server she said there were no craft IPA beers. I said I would just have water. She returned a minute later saying there was a Connecticut microbrew. Food was good but nothing exceptional.

Everything was excellent. I do not eat gluten and was able to find delicious gluten free options. It would be nice to have an indication on the menu for items that are gluten free or can be gluten free with small alterations. Many restaurants now do this and it’s very helpful.

For my money the food could use a little zing. Its carefully prepared but bland. Service is very friendly and attentive. The downstairs room can get quite loud and the speakers over which the music plays sound tinny. Excellent wines at serious prices. Salad very good. Ricotta cheesecake amazing. Two choices of grappa make this a real Italian place.

It was our first time and we’ll definitely be back! Great menu selection. We order a few appetizers to try which we’re all great. I had the fish special and my husband had the ribeye, both dishes were amazing and creative. Our server Charlotte was also the bartender and she was amazing! We met Yaz the manager and Shaun the owner, both gracious hosts. The wine list is small, varied and fantastic.

Our table was not ready and we did wait a bit too long. The owner & hostess were very gracious about the amount of time and offered a drink while we waited. The fresh ricotta was amazing. Speciality drink was delicious. Dinner special was veal piccata and it was very good. I had spaghetti & clams and felt the pasta was mundane, not a fresh pasta taste. Seasoning on both was excellent. Service was great! A fantastic new place for Italian food in Mystic!

We thought the restaurant was great, food, service everything very good. The only snafu was we had a 7 PM reservation, arrived on time and were seated timely. While enjoying a martini before dinner and before we ordered we were informed by our waiter that we only had until 8:15 because that’s when the next reservation for the table would be arriving. I have never been to a restaurant that only give you 1.25 hours to eat, so needless to say the meal then felt rushed and less enjoyed, as other people lavished at their tables much longer than our time limit

The music was a bit too loud. Hard to talk across the table. There was a mix up and we didnt get our dessert. Waiter did pack it to go on the house. The tiramisu was not very good. It seemed like they forgot to soak the lady fingers as they were hard and crunchy with little coffee flavor.

Great experience, food and service. The noise level made it a little difficult to hear and speak at our table, but that was due the the loud foursome sitting at the bar. By far the best Italian restaurant in Mystic

Our waitress, Sarah, was fabulous! Jill of all trades as she mixed and served drinks, waited on ALOT of tables, sprinted up stairs dozens of times AND despite servers being few, took it upon herself to reorder my Gnocchi Verde as I just mentioned “yes” they were delicious although not quite hot enough but not necessary to reheat. We LOVED our choice of the Tiramisu for dessert! AND it was complimentary as I had mentioned on reservation site that we were celebrating our Anniversary! Lovely unexpected surprise!!!!

Waitress was very slow and we snagged another one who kindly took care of us. The first one kind of disappeared 20 min at a time, much longer than needed to take care of the downstair, we were upstairs. Food was good and portions good.

We love this restaurant. We couldn’t wait to bring our friends here. They were in love as well. The espresso martini is second to none and I’m still dreaming of the ravioli. We’ll be back again soon

Should validate parking. Took to long to get drinks. Short rib ragu should have more meat in it. On the positive side, the best tiramisu we ever had. Table clothes or something to improve table setting.

We decided to go to your restaurant after reading your website. When we got there, I immediately loved the atmosphere! We sat upstairs, had a FABULOUS server who was polite, friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. We loved the menu and your specials, although we chose not to try them then, all sounded delicious. We had the calamari and the meatballs as our appetizers, for dinner I had the mezze rigatoni, my husband had the 32 layer lasagna verdi and our daughter had the gramignia, all delicious. The portions looked light but as we all finished every bite, we realized it was just right and we didn't feel too full. We thought it was so nice that the owner/chef came out and greeted the tables, had a great conversation with him. We can't wait to come back again!
