It's always a lovely experience to spend time there. This time the yellow jackets made our little picnic lunch not as pleasurable. We are looking forward to the dinner on 9/2 but hope the yellow jackets stay away!

We had a 3:30 reservation for wine tasting we had been gifted. The website said you closed at 5 and to plan on about 1 1/2 hours for tasting. We heard someone tell their friends as they arrived at 4:20 that you were closing at 4:30. Then server came over to tell us we only had 10 more minutes. No word on website, no word when we checked in, no sign on entry. Folks were coming and leaving (turned away) from then on. Kinda put damper on our already shortened tasting time. A little better preplanning might be nice for others in the future.

I made a reservation over the phone for a large party of 12 people starting at 12:30pm. I was offered two separate tables, as it wasn't possible to fit us all in one table. I agreed to that. No one ever mentioned that we had a hard stop at 3:00pm as another large group would arrive at that time. The vineyard's closing time was 5:00pm on Sunday and it was a rainy day, so when the lady at the front desk came to tell us we had to leave by 3:00pm, it was a surprise for all of us.
As we wanted to keep sharing with our friends, we went out to the bocce ball courts and ended up playing and gathering in the partly rainy partly dry weather.
My two cents: the face of any restaurant or vineyard is the person who welcomes you and serves you. The person who greeted and served us, in this case, was polite but very blunt. She could have used a little more of a friendly attitude to encourage our wanting to come back (after all we were a large group of people and some of them were visiting Hamacher for the very first time!).
The vineyard ambience and the variety of wines and their fair value are all reasons to want to go back; however, I definitely would like to go back; however, this one person's attitude could be a deal breaker.
Customer Service, to me, is a trigger for customers to have a great impression about a particular place.
The first time, we visited Hamacher, Sally, took great care of us. This was not the case on Sunday. I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that we all spoke Spanish and this person in particular didn't like that. Just a thought!

We always have such a positive experience at your winery. We love the staff, the environment, and of course the wine. We were entertaining some visitors from Grenoble, France and they loved the H Pinot Noir. We brought our own food so could not rate that part. We love the flexibility, accomadation, and genuine good will we get there. We always recommend to our friends that they join your wine club.
