The pub was very busy outside when we arrived as it was a sunny day, but inside was plenty of free tables. But we had booked anyway.
You order your food and top up drinks at the bar, which I don't have any issue with.
The Lamb belly was delicious, and portions just right. With plenty of gravy, without having to ask for more, which is rare when eating out.

Lovely food. I had booked a table but had to go find someone when we arrived at 12 as there was no one to ask where to sit. It didn't say anywhere what the pie of the day was and no-one told us so again I had to go find someone to ask. There were lots of wasps coming into the pub, so having some wasp traps might help?

Dropped in as we boated down the river - fabulous view, good food and service. Overall very enjoyable. We may be back - we wanted to take the bus to see Southwell Minster, but it was not running because of the road works ... :-(.

I wasn't happy with the scampi, it was big, hard and too dark in colour. My friends fish was also too dark with the batter, the two with pies were very good. Overall experience was good.

Really good food for the price. Warm friendly and prompt service.
Generally quiet, music at a tolerable level, although I don't know why restaurants have to have it at all.....
They are obviously catering to a range of customers - walkers dropping in, locals having a drink, and diners coming for food. I'm not sure it works well for everybody. I personally don't like dogs in eating establishments, but given the mixed clientele, I can put up with it, if they are quiet. When we were there , a couple were a bit yappy. Probably not feasible in the space available, but a separate dining area would be better.

Food was fabulous! Certainly got that right. But the rock music banging out from behind the bar was annoying. Average age in there at lunchtime was 40+ trying to chat with their family and friends. Seemed inappropriate. The food would bring me back but certainly not the ambience.
