Yes, dogs are allowed in all areas of the Hotel.
As much as we would love to give everyone a Sea-View or specific tables we sadly can't. You are more than welcome make a request but this cannot be guaranteed.
We serve our Lunch and Dinner menu in the restaurant only. Monday-Friday 12-2.30pm/ 6-8.30pm, Saturday 11am-9pm and Sunday 12pm-8pm. We do however offer a bar snacks menu which includes loaded chips, olives, patatas bravas and lots more! The bar snacks menu is available in the bar, conservatory and outside 12-8.30pm. On a walk in basis only.
We serve Breakfast to non-residents 8am-11am. We also serve a Brunch menu from 11am. If you wish to join us for Breakfast please contact us directly on 01263 514964 to book your table.
Yes, we offer a vegan menu - just ask a member of staff and they will get one for you.
Unfortunately we do not have tables that would seat more than 11 people. If you wish to book for more than this you would have to sit on different tables. For example, if there was 12 of you, you would have to sit on 2 tables of 6. We would do our best to make sure they are at the same time and close to each other but this depend on other bookings also. Please ring the Hotel on 01263514964 if you further queries regarding this.
A lot of people do not know that there is a season for crab, this runs from late April-September. During this time we will always have crab on the menu. If crabs are not available then Mussels will be available. Mussel season runs from September-March.
We always advise booking a table. We can get extremely busy especially during May-October.

The food was just on point, one of the best fish meals that my husband had tasted, the service was top notch! My only suggestion would be move the A board to the left or right of the main restaurant window as it spoils the view of the pier and that is the one thing that we visit the Red Lion for, that and the great food. Never disappointed 10/10 we will be back!

Came across this gem while out walking so.we called in for a drink & thought based just on that visit & a look at the menu it looked good. Booked a table easy through the online booking page. Had the Fishcake to start , the John Dory with king prawns for main & bread & butter pud to finish with the wife also having the same but choosing chocolate fondant with malt ice cream for pud. All the food was truly outstanding with the John dory possibly being the best we had ever had. Service was friendly & efficient & with such a great selection of ales the whole evening was tremendous. The wife even got a complementary glass of port too as it was her birthday. A great memorable visit which we would both highly recommend. Definitely top of our list when we return to Cromer.

Lovely time here with our dog. It’s always great to find somewhere nice to eat that accepts them. Service was fab. Food very tasty and came quickly. We had pate to start which we shared. It could have benefited from a bit more bread - there was a lot of pate for 2 small bits of bread. Then we had sea bass special which was lovely but we felt the portion of fish for the price we paid was small.

As we were staying at the Red Lion for my husbands birthday we decided to eat dinner at the restaurant. There was a lot of choice and I was really pleased to see a great choice of fish dishes. Very enjoyable breakfast, all beautifully cooked with excellent ingredients (lovely bacon & sausage - and haloumi on the vegetarian choice). Attentive friendly service - particularly pleasing that request for only one fried egg on my wife’s breakfast was actually met (so often other places have simply served up the standard two eggs disregarding a specific request). We’ll certainly return.

An excellent Sunday roast bedf for my wife and the special ( Mullet on a bed of spaghetti in a chilli sauce) delicious, we treated ourselves to dessert and had death by chocolate and cheesecake with a red cherry ice cream yummy , 10% tip is discretionary and I left an extra tenner as we were so happy with everything . An extra note of praise to all the staff who dealt with us as they were cheerful ,professional and kind . Definitely to be recommended for Sunday dinner.

It was a special time for us with some good friends - the service was friendly and everything ordered was served politely and timely. There was no rush. We will be back

Not our first time in the Red Lion but it was our first time dining. We couldn’t fault the Sunday roast (lamb/pork), it was amazing. Good portion size, good mix of veg sides, and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The puddings were also lovely. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We had two dogs with us and were given a corner table which meant we could tuck them out of the way. A great dining experience. Thank you

As good a Sunday roast as I’ve had, can only think of possibly adding a little jug of gravy per serving. A personal pet hate is dogs in the dining room but it won’t stop us returning. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Another wonderful meal at t he Red Lion. Always a big welcome and our meal was delicious, the monkfish wellington, something we hadn't seen on the menu before. Lovely, friendly, attentive staff completed the evening.

Fantastic late afternoon dinner at the Red Lion Cromer with friends before going to a show on the Pier. What can I say other than superb. Brilliant service, great choice of dishes, amazing assortment of beers and best of all a table by the window as requested. Thank you Red Lion.
