Frequently Asked Questions- Do you have outdoor seating available?
- Yes, our outdoor summer patio is open! We also have three tables located outside in the front of our restaurant. Outdoor tables are available on a first come, first serve basis. Please see our host in the front of the restaurant for availability questions and seating!
- Do you have free wifi available?
- Yes, we do!
- Where is parking located for your restaurant?
- Parking can be found in the paid parking lot adjacent to our restaurant; entrance for this parking lot is on Water Street in front of the Mystic Art Association. Parking can also be found on the street side throughout downtown Mystic.
- Do you accept reservations?
- Yes; reservations can be taken online or via telephone for indoor seating only. Our patio is first come first serve; however, if we have outdoor tables available at the time your arrive for your reservation we are happy to transition you outside at that time.
- Do you allow dogs on your outdoor patio?
- Yes! Dogs are allowed on both our outdoor rear patio and at the three tables located outside in the front of our restaurant. Outdoor seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Honestly, it was a perfect experience. Our server, Pam, was wonderful- very attentive and friendly! The food and drinks were superb. Honestly, the only thing I can even nitpick about is that our entrees came out a little too fast, before we had the chance to finish our appetizer. But honestly, I’d rather have it come too fast than wait a long time. Thank you to The Mariner for a lovely Valentine’s Day!

We had a 5:30p reservation and were greeted quickly at check in and sat promptly. Our server was friendly and he was knowledgeable on the specials of the day. Our entrees came out just in time for us to finish our clam chowders. My steak tips were tender and full of flavor and the fried clam strips did not disappoint. We visit once or twice a year coming from Farmington and we have yet to have a bad experience. Keep up the great work in presentation, esthetics, service and quality of food!

This was only the second restaurant that we've tried since the state has started to open back up. We were thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness, service, and food. We ate outside which was very comfortable as they had umbrellas set up for shade. We will definitely return when we want lobster rolls and clams again!

I went there because we watched the Phantom Gourmet the menu was not anything like what was on the show she explained they have a sister restaurant across the street which wasn't open until later. The menu was very limited and the food was not good drinks were flat and the bill was very high for what we ordered not going back.

Nice place and good food. Only issue was that the waiting time between appetizer and the main meal was almost an hour. Service person did not keep us informed that there was a kitchen issue; we were told about 5 minutes before the main meal arrived. Keeping us informed would have been greatly appreciated.

I made a reservation for 7PM. The restaurant called me at 6:50 wanting me to confirm that I would be there at 7. I said we would be there. We get there at 7, they find our reservation then tell us it we have to wait. We waited 30 minutes for a table. I think they forgot about us. They seemed to be keeping track of reservations on a piece of paper. Also, I made a note in the reservation that this was for our 10th wedding anniversary. No one mentioned this to us. Would have been a nice touch.

The lobster (roll) was not warm enough nor was the butter.
The fish in fish and chips was fresh but it was a little overcooked (very soft). It also was very oily. The chips were not crisp on the outside. The portion of Cole slaw was too small (asked for another and got it---very good service) The mussels fra diablo had too small amount of pasta.

I was able to make a reservation and we were seated immediately upon arrival (on time). The staff was very welcoming, knowledgeable and willing to spend time answering questions. Visually a nice restaurant and good atmosphere. However, if you want pasta and shellfish they only have one dish or seafood and pasta (no dishes). The waitress said that ordering seafood and a pasta is not possible. Even if paying extra. After multiple attempts the waiter said it was not possible because of a stand in chef for the evening. Wine arrived 20 min into the meal. Will not be coming back.

This was a great place to have dinner. I would have rated it as 10 if it hadn’t been for two issues. The first was that my delicious scallops were served on room temperature risotto. I didn’t send it back because I wanted to eat dinner at the same time as my husband. The second issue was that we had to send the bill back twice. The first time was just a mix-up. The bill for another table came to us and it was so large (more than twice what ours should have been) that I caught it immediately. When they corrected our bill, it came with an item that we hadn’t ordered. I know that restaurants can make mistakes, but the second error of $11.00 was one that I think we could have missed if we hadn’t played very close attention.

Our waitress was great and the decor was very nice. Meals came out promptly with no wait time. However the food was a bit bland. Crabcake was very soft and mushy. I rarely require salt for my food however the Risotto dish required a lot of salt and pepper to give it some flavor. Surprised there wasn’t any bread provided.

The restaurant was very loud, it took a while for us to receive even water, they were out of the crab cakes, I felt like the lobster roll could have had more Lobster in it. My Caesar salad was just okay, nothing Grand. The male Hostess was very accommodating trying to get us a more quiet and comfortable seat.

The Mariner was a great place to relax on a weekday evening. The food was plentiful and delicious. The staff were engaging and helpful. We started with the Calamari, then I had mussels, and my husband had the fish and chips. Everything was cooked well. We had the pleasure of sitting by the window and could watch the people walking by and then saw Santa come through the town on a firetruck. Overall, this was a great experience, and I would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for seafood.

My husband and I go to this restaurant at least four times a year when we visit Mystic it has always been our favorite place and still is but I do notice a change in the portion sizes and the service isn’t what it used to be as I do understand times are tough right now we shouldn’t have to sacrifice service. When you made the reservation online through their website it asks you what the occasion is we put that it was a birthday and they never even acknowledged it which was quite upsetting

We had a wonderful experience at the Mariner in Mystic. The atmosphere of enjoy your work pervades the restaurant. The General Manager gave special consideration to our seating location and the owners could not habe been more welcoming. And, of course, the food was superb. Can't wait to return and highly recommend.

Absolutely a 10 in every category. Food was amazing; waitress was just wonderful and personable; ambience very cozy/charming. We were sorry that we didn't have any room for dessert!
Only aside for Ambiance was to have softer music, like jazz, acoustic, or big band. I know that is not practical in a bar restaurant setting, but just a thought!
