Excellent food, service by staff and the surroundings. Everyone in my group was amazed at this delightful place. Then I told them saw advertisement on t.v. Highly recommend this outstanding establishment. Will return at a later date.

Gina & Kosta provided a warm and welcoming venue on a chilly day. Enjoyed the food with full description given of what we were eating. Mezze with added extras was a lovely way to enjoy time with our friends from Melbourne. Love the fact you are not hurried out and can sit and talk for as long as you like. Gina & Kosta are congenial hosts.

A very positive dining experience although a tad overpriced for the main course serves of garlic prawns, scallops, pasta and pizza (certainly compared to what we are used to in Carlton).

Great to have a casual restaurant in the Macedon Ranges that serves good food in a nice atmosphere. Wood fired pizza was excellent.

Not a lot on offer at 3.30pm on a Sunday afternoon. Had a great meal at The Stables, pleasantly surprised. Will be, back want to try the pizzas.

David, yes, I know most places close from 3 to 5pm but it's always good to know our full menu is on offer during those times with the exception of our pizzas (only because we need to boot the wood-fired oven for dinner). Made very welcome and ambience excellent. Range of food in offer good. My Moussaka was a little disappointing lacking in moisture but others enjoyed their meals. Would certainly go again

Our meals were a little underwhelming for the price. The chicken cacciatore tasted overstewed and lacked flavour. The eggplant meal the same. I felt that their specialty was pizzas which we should have chosen.

Sorry you were disappointed with your meals that they lacked flavour. Guess it's a matter of taste. Overpriced? Main dishes less than $30 are pretty good value these days.

We are regulars at “The Stables” as it is a good halfway point to meet friends coming from Melbourne and Bendigo. Love the location opposite the gardens and we love that Kosta pops out to each table once each visit. The only negative from the latest visit was that the wait-staff in trying to be attentive managed to be too attentive. The number of times that they came over and asked “is everything OK” ended being a complete distraction that interrupted conversation and detracted from our ability to just catch up with friends. Something to watch for the team.

The only problem our party had was that it was very noisy and we were unable to have a good conversation with each other because of the background noise.
