Our philosophy has always been to use the best local ingredients to showcase what the region has to offer. Port 53 is a true harbor of local food, boutique wines, top-shelf spirits, and craft beers. Chef-owner Adam Mitchell, with help from his dedicated team, has worked hard to create a restaurant that appeals to everyone with a fantastic range of food and beverages and positioned in a great location. Adam’s aim was to create a restaurant that he and his family would enjoy dining at themselves, and he has achieved that in spades. Adam trained in classical French Cuisine whilst at William Angliss Institute in the 90s, and later followed his wife Rebecca back to Canada. Adam gravitated towards a love for the French Creole-Cajun style of food whilst working in a Creole inspired restaurant in Saskatoon Canada. Canada has a shaded history with Cajun cuisine through the deportation of the French Arcadians from Canada to Louisiana in the 1700s, and this vibrant past still has an influence in Canada’s cuisine today. Like the Creole and Cajun culture itself, Port 53 uses what is seasonably available to create soul food that is both comforting and exciting at the same time. Signature dishes include a spicy ‘low-country boil’ along with a selection of chargrilled local meats accompanied with delicious sauces and spice blends. Port 53 offers a unique industrial-chic atmosphere with a décor of local memorabilia. Port 53 is a true example of Creole and Cajun culture by utilizing local and regional foods and cooking them with love.

Twice we have eaten here and both times slow on the beers, they could have a xtra bar person and made three times the amount. The cocktails delicious Thankyou. The food was too little as a single Taco but the flavours great .

Port 53 covers the basics well, where it really shines is the service by waitstaff and it is always consistent. The standard you enjoyed last time is the standard you will enjoy next time. I'd prefer other chips than french fries, but only a minor gripe, compensated for by some great dishes - especially the chicken wings.

Excellent dining option in Echuca - great food and cocktails! We really love this restaurant and keep going back. The ambience isn't as great right now, as it has been in the past - as they can only have a certain number of people and the tables are so spaced apart because of Covid. Stumbled across this place whilst looking for something different in our usual holiday location. From the very second we walked through the door and was greeted and seated by venue manager Mitch, we knew we were on a winner. His friendliness, charisma and warmth was so unique and made you feel right at home. This coupled with his knowledge of the venue menu and cocktail list was refreshing. The food was amazing, very reasonably priced and tasted amazing. The pork ribs fell from the bone and the mac n cheese, so cheesy a knife was needed to break the stretch. The jambalaya was spectacular and the cocktails divine. A great place, led by an amazing young manager who is definetly going places ! Well done to all !

When I went back up to try again no one was serving the fish and the lids where closed so I wasn’t sure what to do . In hindsight I should have asked but it was very busy . I’ll add though the fish was and tasted spectacular
Overall all very fresh and tasty
although ( and I understand this is just pure bad luck and not anyone’s fault ) one of the lobster tales we had was off and we couldn’t eat it but I know this is just an accident and impossible to know
Overall still a fantastic and magnificent place with the best food and service . Will be back Thank you

Food and drinks were amazing. Staff very friendly, just a bit too much being asked by everyone walking past how it was going. One staff member checking in would be sufficient.
Bit let down watching/hearing some gossiping from staff. Quiet evening, your voices travel.
But overall very nice environment and amazing food inc price :)

Everything was great but unfortunately there was a black hair inside the macaroni croquette, I didn’t complain about it because we were with friends who live in Echuca and had never been there so I just pulled it out and didn’t eat it all, I know these things happen occasionally, it won’t deter me from coming back.

Everything was lovely from food to service. The lighting was a bit dim however needed to use a light in my phone to read the menu. Not enough to stop us coming back again though.
