Book a FAMILY CRAFTING reservation at Rediscover Center Venice and have a blast making art from upcycled materials. We provide tons of crafting tools for all levels of expertise for mountains of materials for fully staffed Family Crafting experience for groups of up to two adults and three children. Family Crafting is open at Rediscover Center Venice on Saturdays and Sundays.
We stock your table with curated recycled materials and "rediscovered" offcuts and scraps from local manufacturers, along with freshly sanitized crafting tools and kid-friendly fasteners. Learn new techniques from Rediscover's amazing Facilitators. Take inspiration from one of our creative prompts or come in with a project in mind and let us help you make something amazing. Fun for all ages, kids and parents alike. Our Facilitators are experienced artists and educators, ready to teach crafting and assemblage techniques, supervise safe tool use, and get you making projects as wild as your imagination!

Frequently Asked Questions- What should we expect when we arrive?
- Please come to the front entrance of reDiscover Center at 12958 W Washington Blvd. Benches are provided outside if you arrive before your scheduled Family Crafting session. When the session begins, your group will be brought in and seated at your crafting table, where a warm up activity will be set up so you can get crafting immediately. Our Facilitators are on hand to answer your questions and help you get situated.
- Do we need to bring anything?
- reDiscover provides all of the tools and materials you need for a great session of crafting. If you have a project that you are working on, materials you would like to use, or a crafting tool you'd like some advice on, bring it along! reDiscover also encourages donations of household discards that can be used in our educational programs. - What should we expect from this program?
- The program starts with a welcome message and introduction to the tools, techniques, and materials that you'll use at Family Crafting. You can get as much or as little support to make your project as you want, from a semi-private lesson, to a list of project prompts, to an open studio experience.
- What ages are Family Crafting good for?
- Family Crafting is great for ages 5 and up. Children ages 3 to 5 will have a great time working closely with a parent to explore reDiscover's materials and jointly put together a craft project. This program includes sitting and crafting for an extended period of time and is not intended for children younger than 3.
- How long does a Family Crafting session last?
- Each Family Crafting session is 75 minutes. For intensely dedicated crafters, you can purchase multiple sequential sessions and keep building all day!
- What kinds of tools and materials are provided by reDiscover Center for Family Crafting?
- Each Family Crafting table will be supplied with (1) Hot Glue Gun and Holder, (2) Canary Knives (small double sided serrated knife used to cut cardboard.**Safer than a box cutter), (1) Small Pliers, (1) Snips (wire cutter), and (1) small Screwdriver to start. Cardboard boxes, tubes, and paper will our main tinkering materials. However additional materials will be brought to your table upon request.

We had a great time crafting! Desiree was really nice and helpful in getting us going.
The food was terrible tho, my steak was overcooked and the kids mac & cheese was too salty.
