We are proud to showcase the wonderful bounty that Huron County has to offer. Come sip a glass of our wine on the patio overlooking the vineyards. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate groups of more than 8 people. Our dining experience is optimized for adult diners. We can only hold your table for 10 minutes after your reserved time. Parties of 6 or more will be subject to an automatic 18% gratuity.
We accept cash, debit, and all major credit cards. Unfortunately, we cannot split bills at tables at this time.

Flight of wines, very expensive ($25) considering most wineries charge $10-12 and some don't charge if purchases are made. (We had 3 glasses of wine with our patio lunch and purchased 2 bottles of wine including a premium wine.) Our favourite wine of those sampled was the Riesling.
Will we return? I'm not sure. We'll certainly let our friends know about your prices.

It was drizzling and we stayed dry under the high roof top. The atmosphere is awesome and the wait staff are very professional and caring. We loved our wine tastings during lunch and we bought a few souvenirs to take home! Dark horse made a dreary day the best day! And the wood fired pizza oven pizza is delicious.

The charcuterie board was not as good as last years- - no breads, no preserves and 6 jalapeños! The pizza of the day was sub par , sloppily presented , overly dressed with gobs of carmelized onions and not too tasty. Disappointing.

Wind breakers, potted plants, cushions on chairs, more diversified menu, pizzas are frozen so could have more options and make crust crispy, don’t serve in box it makes pizza soggy. It cost us over $100 for 2 soggy pizza’s and wine.
I would not return to patio or recommend without improvements as not getting good value.

Rules for making reservation needs a tune up. Reservation for 11 people had to call a number. Tried calling, calling, calling and no one answers, get answer machine.

Very disappointed. The pizza had no flavour. Very little basil on it. Only tomato sauce and no tomatoes. Menu was very limited. The waitress was a sweet girl but was not able to answer many questions. I was shocked to learn from her that you can only have 1 bill for the table and you could not give 2 credit cards to split the bill. Overall. A very disappointing experience.

We had 2 tables of four for an important family function. Our experience was excellent! The only suggestion I have is why you would not have a larger party table. Site would only let you select max 6 with no explanation on site why. I had to make 2 separate reservations for 4.

We had a lovely brunch on Easter Sunday. The ambiance was beautiful, service was excellent, and the food was delicious. It would have been fun if the Easter Bunny was there on Sunday as well as Saturday for the kids. The only other thing I would suggest is to place jam on the table with breakfast as we had to get the attention of the server and ask for it. Other than that I’m happy we chose Dark Horse winery to spend part of our Easter Sunday.

We absolutely loved everything! The building and interior design are spectacular, very impressive! The food and service are 5 star and of course we enjoyed the wine. We were a party of 8 wanting to taste some wines. The price of flights is ridiculous! $15 +.tax.for.two, one oz. samples or $25 for four one ounce samples. When I called, I was advised that on Wednesdays, wine was $6 a glass....but was not advised that it was only one red, one white.and one rose. I sure hope that Dark Horse donates the proceeds from their tastings to charity. The service was good, but we had to put everyone's order on one bill. With the exception of one other table for 2, we were the only ones there. We will not be going back. Seems Dark Horse is a bit too big for their britches these days. The word snobby comes.to mind.as.well.

We showed up late to our reservation. The hostess was kind enough to hold it for us after we communicated we would be late. We had been wanting to visit for a while. However the server immediately scowled at our table. Yes my mother was a bit louder than her usual self. She was super excited to be going to dark horse as we surprised her with this visit. But the server made us feel like she didn’t want us to be there. My moms wine glass SLID off the table. A full glass. Due to the condensation from the glass on the table. Why you don’t have coasters is questionable. Her glass fell. The server scowled and asked if the glass broke. Gee thanks we’re soaked but ok. Then the host told us she levels the tables everyday. Which is hilarious because the table was sitting on a slant. We were still charged 14$ and no replacement. In fact the server came out with the bill immediately. She wanted us to leave. I won’t be visiting or recommending your establishment. Your cashier in the store was also rude. Aren’t they taught to say thank you to bills over a 100.00??

There were 8 in our group and we were not allowed to all sit at one table.
Very shortly after , a group of similar size , 7 for sure all got seated together.
We made reservations long in advance because we were going to a play at the playhouse. It is in a very convenient location. But to be honest we only made the reservations because we could walk over to the play. The patio is lovely but the ambiance/mood was not.

Waitress was excellent however, it was very windy on the patio. This combined with bamboo cutlery made for a not very relaxing lunch. Pizza was average and wind blew it over so all topping ended up on one side. We had to hang on to everything for the whole lunch or would have been wearing our pizza.
Not sure how to do anything about the wind, maybe a partial clear screen? One suggestion I would make is to have real cutlery that wouldn’t blow into the grape fields.

In looking at reviews for this patio.. after going there.. I may not have chosen to book a reservation for lunch.. the reviews even back 3 years ago pre Covid.. were pretty well the same as our experience… the winery is lovely and we enjoyed the retail store and are happy with our purchases there… but their staff were not prepared, not well trained, set up was not conducive to work well for the guests… essentially, they should just have take out pizza .. and nobody seemed to be in charge.. staff were nice but not well trained and not effecient at all in providing food service… would not have mind the cost of 50.00 for small pizza and 1 glass of wine IF everything had been perfect or close to.. but food and service was not even close.

Having been to the winery several times in the past, with my partner and groups, as well as during COVID, I visited with 2 friends this time before an afternoon matinee. I was surprised by substantial increase in $ for wine tastings. Our waitress failed to bring water to our table after taking our luncheon order but was pleasant enough when asked. I went on a Friday and was unable to do a flight of wine. Was told they don't offer flights on weekends because how busy it is. There was only a handful of people at the winery.... I left shortly after without making a purchase. Went to Shale Ridge Estate Winery the same day. Had a flight, chactuerie board and bought multiple bottles of their delicious wines.

We had the bread and dips as an appetizer and it was good, but felt the quantity for the price was insufficient; 6 pieces of bread for $17…as well the wine is good, but again, for a 6 oz glass $13, is a significant price. When I made the reservation on the app, while it said it did allow for up to 6 people, it only allowed me to select up to 4 so had to call to adjust up to 6.
