Food, ambience and value were all good. What let the visit down was that we were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu, which we did, but once it was put on the table, nobody came back to take our order. My guest asked for a pot of tea, which she took back as there was no more than an inch of water in the pot and insufficient to fill a cup! Surprisingly, we had already booked for the next night but I’ll report on that when the feedback email arrives as there is a pattern emerging.

Could not fault. Food was excellent, lots of fresh veg and plenty of meat on our roast. The meals are quite large so maybe opt for the child’s roast if you like a smaller meal. Refreshing to find happy staff that were attentive and took the time to chat with you even thou they were very busy and it being very hot day on the day we went. Smooth booking process online with choice of areas (we booked the shelter) We will definitely return.

Food was plentiful and delicious, service was good. Lovely touch of a complimentary drink for the birthday couple and ice lolly’s for the children. Great outdoor play area for the children too!

We have been to the Red Lion in Southwick for many years - it never fails to disappoint - food always beautifully served and the staff have time to stop and interact with the customers, which makes the whole experience delightful. the place was full on a Wednesday lunch-time - says it all really doesn't it.
