I am a regular client, at least twice a month during the day. I have no complaints, the quality of the food is excellent and the service is first class.
You cannot help noticing the foot fall has dropped off, probably due the increase in the cost of living, it is a juggling act, balancing the books against the cost of eating out. You might consider introducing a new layer of service for pensioners and those who are struggling with cost. (Small, medium and large springs to mind) I am not a great eater and a slightly smaller portion would appeal to me. I hope you have a great summer with visitors to the New Forest. We sat at a lovely little table for 2 by a door (emergency exit) It is lovely to see the sun shining. But it was very blinding when talking and looking at my partner. May i suggest perhaps a blind that can be pulled down slightly.

A perfect Mothering Sunday lunch for nine of us. The staff were very attentive informing us of a 45 mins wait as it was so busy on arrival as it was a very busy day . Prompt with drinks and taking our order at the table. Provided high chairs promptly. The food all came out all at the same time three roasts which were very delicious plentiful and lots of meat and tasty vegetables . Three pies which we asked for extra veg with and they accommodated . The child fish finger and chips and peas also lovely . Followed by ice creams from the gelato counter. .
An extremely lovely afternoon not having to cook or wash up a plate in sight. We’re definitely recommend to anybody as also there is such a varied menu to choose from thanks for making Mother’s Day such a perfect day for my family.

We attended with our 2 dogs and we were all made to feel welcome. The food was great. The vegetables were freshly cooked and cooked well. The portions are very large!! Will definitely be back. We reserved a table for a birthday lunch. My parents took me to the Happy Cheese 59 years ago when I ate my first steak out (we were quite poor in those days). We have passed by the HC many times since but never had time to stop, and remained curious about the place. So this was a reminiscing experience - and I was prepared to be disappointed. But far from it - the HC did not disappoint - indeed it was one of the best pub lunches we have had in recent years! Well done on the day, and well done for sustaining an excellent establishment across all these years! To quote Arnie 'we'll be back!'.

We have been coming for a girls family lunch one a month for many months now and have no desire to try anywhere else as the service, ambience and food are all lovely. Especially the service which is so friendly.

I did have to return my Lasagne straight away as it was luke warm but with no questions asked they replaced this with a new one in a few minutes

Met for coffee and cake. Staff very friendly, enjoyed our visit very much. We will come back again in the new year for something to eat. We liked that there were some tucked out of the way tables which would be ideal if we come with friends, bit more private to have a chat whilst eating.
