Nice friendly efficient staff; clean and tidy restaurant; nice food. Only thing not so nice - the peas with my sausage and mash.... hard and not much flavour! Otherwise, fish in nice crisp batter; nice non greasy chips; and the ice cream sundae was fab! For once in a restaurant the ice cream was really cold!

My husband and I have a excellent meal this evening at the castle pub very good value for money and relaxing atmosphere food was top quality and well presented and tasty staff were attentive and respectful will be returning very soon

From the moment we walked in to the Castle we were pleased we booked a meal there. The staff were very friendly, the dining area was nicely set up entirely in keeping with the age of the building and the food was delicious. The portions were so big I took half my hunters chicken home with me and still left food on my plate. We will definitely be going back there in the future.

This is only the second time we’ve visited. The first time was several years ago and it wasn’t the best experience. What a different story today though! Absolutely loved it, the Sunday lunch was amazing and the best cheesecake I’ve had in ages. The service was also great. We’ll definitely be visiting again:)

server was lovely but the food was not great. Most on the full english was deep fried inc mushrooms, black pudding, hash, meat and swimming in oil - it all just tasted greasy. Breakfast Sandwich ok but meat the same and over fried. Decent pricing but i would happily pay more for better quality food. Ambience was dead - we were only table in on a sun morning until another family came in a little later

First time here. Very friendly staff. Huge roast dinner, could only manage half at best! Very reasonably priced too. Lovely Yorkshire. My only criticisms are gravy is best served in a jug, there was a lot of it which I personally like but I don’t like it on potatoes as it ruins the effort taken to get crispy potatoes! I would improve or remove the stuffing, I didn’t try it as I could tell what it would be like but my husband did off my plate and he wasn’t keen.

Two meals came out of the 5 and they had to start eating as the other 3 didn’t come straight away. One of the Thai Green curries was cold and had to be sent back, leaving someone waiting for the other whilst the rest of us ate. However, this was taken off the final bill. Disappointing as I chose to take my friends there. Will try once more and hope it’s better as it’s my local and have always enjoyed going there.
