Our new and extended dining restaurant, fully licensed bar and cosy coffee shop is a bright and spacious area with a choice of different seating areas for you to enjoy as well as huge lawned gardens which are perfect for a picnic. We’re open 7 days a week and have disabled access, baby changing facilities, free wifi, outside seating and a children’s play area – all with beautiful views across the Blackmore Vale.
Whether you want a Great Udder Breakfast, a light lunch, Sunday roast or an afternoon tea, we serve a wide range of delicious meals and snacks, all freshly cooked to order. We have an extensive Gluten Free menu and are happy to cater for other special dietary requirements – just let us know when you place your order.

Booking Notes:
Please let us know by phone or online if you need to cancel or if you are going to be late. We will hold tables for 15 minutes only, unless we are notified of a delay. Reservations are for indoor tables only. Table occupancy is for 2 hours maximum. We have over 20 outdoor tables, which you may choose to dine at on arrival. We have a designated outdoor area for diners with dogs, however assistance dogs may accompany their owners anywhere inside or outside.

It was our first visit, but won’t be our last. It was wonderfully spacious and airy with a lovely view over the fields to the hills. We all enjoyed the food, although it cost a little more than we expected for breakfast. Despite that I would definitely recommend it and hope to return again. My grandson (nearly 3) loved the play area.

This was our first visit to a Steak Night. We were not disappointed. All the staff were very polite and helpful. The service was really good and each course arrived quickly. The food was just excellent - we had sirloin steaks that were cooked to perfection. The starter and dessert courses were very good with some unique options on the menu. There is nothing that we could add to improve the overall experience. We will be returning to another steak night!

Well known and well used venue for us - excellent overall experience, as always.
Points marked down one (being very picky) as no skimmed / semi skimmed milk available, and eggs slightly overdone.
In the "value" field, marked down one, as loyalty discount unavailable at the weekend, which as they are so busy, seems mean - but perhaps there are factors I haven’t appreciated to be included.
As I say though - overall, the enjoyable, pleasant experience we have come to expect from them.

We always have a great breakfast at The Udder and met regularly there as a group. The service is excellent and friendly. A beautiful setting and the added bonus of a mooch around the shop afterwards too.
