We had a lovely evening. The service was friendly and great. The food was well presented and of good quality — the fish & chips was massive which was good to see. Our only very minor comment is to express disappointment that none of the desserts included warm custard. Apart from that a good time was had by all.

We visited on a very busy Bank Holiday Monday. We had telephoned to say we would be a little late but that was no problem. We were greeted and given the choice of indoor or outside seating. Great meal, great staff!

We live The Thimble…….always a pleasure to visit…….welcoming and friendly…….we noticed a somewhat reduced menu choice…….maybe this is because of reduced footfall in these difficult times for the hospitality sector? However, the great staff more than compensated

Sat waiting for our food and it was extremely noisy, but what made it worse was the background music, it was too loud. Disappointed with the roast as we had 1 roasted carrot, 1 roasted parsnip and a small amount of mashed swede. These veggies had been peppered, not a problem, but there was something else, which we think could be chilli, also in the mix. Only 2 toasties. It was all piled into a heap, which didn't appeal to the 4 of us. What we had was not good for the price point. We won't be going again

What a pleasure to return to the Thimble, it’s been a while. Scott & Ben are doing a fantastic job and supported by a brilliant team (it was wonderful seeing Jamie and Dan again). Food was faultless, service impeccable. My one tiny bit of feedback (and this isn’t negative, just my particular preference) whilst the vegetables are lovely with the roast, I would have liked a green vegetable addition to be part of it, however, they did provide some once I asked

All very nice with Mine Host visiting each table which is a nice touch. If you want feedback the lock on ladies loo is bent! Great little pub in pretty rural setting and excellent value.

Portions were a little small compared the previous management but were adequate. Menu a bit limited and would soon get boring if we went there often. Our waitress was very nice and recommended the excellent seasonal ale which I really enjoyed. The ambience, well its a pub and by local standards quite good so it isn't falling apart under new management.

Very friendly staff and excellent food. Great to see a good selection of gluten free options. Husband said the cherry pie is the best he's ever tasted and he's a massive fan of this dessert! Will definitely return as this was one of our favourite pubs to visit and I'm sure will continue to be.

The food was good but I was surprised that there was no possibility of having or purchasing vegetables to go with the fish pie. The only option was roasted vegetables. I think a dish of 'garden vegetables' would be appreciated even if had to be purchase as an extra.

Excellent food, pleasant staff and beautiful pub. If I had to criticise anything is that I would have preferred to have a mixture of veg and much less potatoes. That would have made for a healthier mixture of nutrients. I now know this for next time.

I was worried that Palmers had spoilt the Thimble Inn, however, apart from less people than usual (we did arrive at 12noon!) it was great. The service was good and the staff friendly. The menu has been simplified but the food was very good - one of our party had steak which he said was great and two others had the double hamburger which was as good if not better than before Palmers. The pub started filling up later. Prices slightly higher but they would have been increased anyway. Good experience all round although the pub did get a little bit chilly.

The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, and the pub itself was lovely (though I was surprised that the covered well wasn't lit up as it used to be). The food was tasty - my friend and I had the beef bourginon and the special seafood pasta - but the portions were small for the money which was a shame. However, we enjoyed our visit and will return

We weren't asked about allergies so I had to check with the waitress when she brought the food. She apologised for the omission but due to that error we slightly reduced the tip we left. I could have done with a slightly larger plate as I kept losing the salad and potatoes. Overall the food was hot and tasty. Very pleasant staff and a good ambience. We would return if we're in the area again.

Good food but sticky toffee pudding wasnt as good as last time. The sauce was a touch burnt and there wasnt enough sauce. I also resent paying £2:80 for a pint of soda water (a bit of gas put through tap water)

The food was ok for the most part. I had Steak Frits.. it was literally just a smallish piece of steak, cooked well enough, but to have nothing accompany it, bar a few fries was a bit disappointing. could so with a little sauce, and something fresh on the plate.
