Felt very welcomed, and at home. The menu felt inventive, but comforting at the same time. We were both kinda sad that we were so full we didn’t have room for dessert, but we had opted for fries to start, and they were the best fries we’ve had in over a year. Amazing meal and dining experience. The prix fixe Tiki menu was super fun, every course was distinctive and well executed. We especially enjoyed the first course spam! I would go back just for that. It was visually appealing and the flavors and textures were truly special. We also orded the duck with sweet potato dish and the fall salad with Shropshire cheese. Both were delicious and well executed. The ZunZun Team really rocked it last evening. Thank you for a memorable meal with the added bonus of a portion of the proceeds going to the RARO pet pantry!

We completely enjoyed everything about Zunzun. The ambiance of the restaurant is quaint, inviting and relaxingly enjoyable. While it appears small inside, you feel as if you're table is the only one.
We ordered the duck and the Arctic Char. Both dishes were delicious, and had new flavors in each bite. The complimenting sides served with each were well thought out and rounded out the entire meal. The portions were great and did not us feeling too full or wanting any more. Perfect!
On top of the amazing food and atmosphere, we were greeted, and followed up upon by wonderful people (who we later found out were the owners). Such a lovely couple providing one of the best dining experiences we've ever had.
If you are ever in Lexington, please do yourself a favor and reserve a table for Zunzun. You will not be disappointed. We can't wait to get back!!!

Living locally, we dine out occasionally. This was our first dining experience at Zunzun. Because of the small size, it is a quiet place to dine so our conversation did not compete with the other diners. Decor is very dark. The menu selection is short/varied, so no laboring over what to select. The chef came to our table to discuss the beef choice. There are options for non meat eaters and the food was quite good with enough provided to fill one up. Dessert was declined because we were full. Service was attentive and quick to respond to a spilled glass of wine. Reservations allow for a lengthy dining experience so we did not feel rushed. Prices comparable to similar restaurants in town. We will eat here again.

Zunzun is unique in its approach. The 'server' who discusses the menu and takes your order is likely to be an owner-chef, already knows what variations will work, and what will not (as for allergies, etc) and the service progresses at a comfortable pace--no rushing, no frustrating delays. This was our second visit to Zun Zun and it was even better than our first (which was kind of a lark). On our first visit we showed up with no reservation and noticed they were pretty full. After a bit of shuffling they found a table for us and served up what can only be described as magical. I'll confess, I didn't really do the ordering - the waiter suggested a few things, we nodded in agreement and the rest was - at least for us - a culinary awakening. As New Yorkers we know good food and this was VERY good. Did I mention that the place is run by some of the coolest people in restaurants? They are. Cut to our recent visit - we booked the Valentine's dinner special and they somehow found more ways to astonish is with their creativity and deliciousness. Inventive. Complex. Thinky but not too thinky. All served up by genuine and cool people. When was the last time you went to a restaurant and you got all of the feels? Literally all of them. Cheers to Zun Zun. You are spectacular.

This was our first visit to ZunZun and it was an overall great experience. My wife is vegetarian and they were very accommodating without diminishing the experienced (i.e. served a plate of steamed vegetables). We started with the Tuna Tacos VG version and they were really full of flavor with a somewhat complex filling that included chili crisp, fresh jalapeños some crunchy veggies and who knows what else. My wife had the Braised Mushroom Ragout and loved it. I had the blackened pork chop which was great and served with a sauce that really pushed it over the top. My cocktail was pretty boring due to no fault of theirs but my wife had the Mai Thai and it was one of the best we (I had a few sips) have had. It warranted a second one. The ambiance is very cozy and the service was very personalized and friendly. We will definitely work our way back to ZunZun.

The food was creative and beautifully presented. All the sides were a perfect match. Ambience quaint and tasteful. The owner host Adam was his usual thoughtful and polite self. However, His temporary assistant was less than patient, too pro functional and insensitive.
A bit hurried and should have been more accommodating to walk in guests.
Otherwise, I would highly recommend this perfect place to anyone. We just return from Charleston SC and ate at some of their best restaurants, and Zun Zun beat them all hands down.

The menu and choices were not only creative but beautifully presented on the plate. Adam the chef and his wife were always at the table ready to share knowledge and ideas. The various combinations of sauce pairings that the chef creates are unique and superb. The use of fresh local products makes a huge difference and enhances the flavors which are discreetly tucked away in the entrees. The dessert menu is small but always original and bursting with flavor. If it is chocolate, then you know it, lemon, then it pops in your mouth. The building is like a Quaker meeting house bursting with character and paying homage to delicious food. Cat wait to go back.

The food and service here are outstanding. We shared lots of small plates and each offered a little pop of surprise. I’ll be thinking about that plum-raspberry bread pudding for a while!

We've had nothing but wonderful experiences at Zunzun. The owners and staff are lovely and helpful, the food is delicious, and the ambience is casual but comfortable. I really like the menu choices - not a vast array but instead a limited but beautifully-chosen set of small, medium, and larger plates with something for everyone.
Is it the best place in Lexington? Go see!

I ordered the Saffron Spiced Wahoo fish and it was way overcooked and dry. Need to work on getting seafood cooked correctly.
Loved our cocktails (Bees Knees and Mai Tais), though, and the fries and Tuna Poke!

We talked to one of the owners, Matt, and express’s our view that he needed to share w guests the fact that he was one of the owners and explain what they were trying to do w the selections on the menu- to balance between a more all inclusive bar, but preserve some of the favorites for Red Hen fans. When we we heard that story, we were much more accepting of the new concept. Prior to our first visit, we had love the Red Hen and missed it. It was our go to for special events, and a nice night out. We had heard Zun Zun was slow service, and overpriced for what we got. After we talked to Matt, as past 20 yr Arlington restaurant owners, (started the Cowboy Cafe) we better understood their motivations, and are more supportive of them.

The ambience and the service was very good. A nice selection of wines and very friendly atmosphere. One steak was tough as shoe leather. The other steak was so fatty it was difficult to eat.
The salmon was delicious and was very much enjoyed.

The service was great, and thanks to all for that.
But for a "high end" restaurant, the food/drink were disappointing.
The bubbly was nice enough and a good amount, but it seemed quite overpriced when we looked it up later. The red wines were fine but both were extremely small pours.
The NY Strip was too chewy and hard to cut in areas. The "Noods" disappointed in being simply cheap Ramen lookalikes.
Yesterday we had occasion to hear of others who had the same NY Strip and small pours experiences recently.
We're glad you're trying to bring it back to a "full meal high end" place. I'm sharing the above because we want you to succeed -- the complimentary chocolate truffles were a great touch! :-)

The food was pricy, yet unique and fresh made which was nice. The waiter was great and took time to explain lots of things to us. The atmosphere was great for the double date Ava the conversations we wanted to have. Only negative was the food taste. All was cooked well, but the duck was gamey, the mushroom gnocchi was a little plain, and the steak was very fatty and tendon filled and couldn’t barely cut it. It’s was also supposed to be blackened and didn’t seem to be. Overall good, but for the price I’d hoped to food would taste a bit better
