Great to be back at Venga. Always tasty food and lots of choice. The cocktails after our meal were fantastic and Olli couldn’t have been more helpful and clearly loves making them.

Fantastic evening...staff so friendly (and doing a really good job keeping customers COVID-19 safe, thank you) Love the garden area! Food exceptional, only slight criticism was the lemon cheesecake...a bit mass produced with squirty sweet cream, should have had the churros which looked lovely. Great wine and cocktails, perfect place for our first evening out since lockdown. Thanks everyone.

Haven’t been to Venga for a long time so we were really looking forward to coming, and it didn’t disappoint! Delicious food and wine as expected! Would highly recommend the ribs *chefs kiss* very reasonably priced considering the cost of similar cuisine in nearby Bristol and also Clevedon! Lovely atmosphere as well and friendly staff.

Finally got to spend an evening in Venga. The food was good. We would have visited many times before but because we don't live in Portishead we tried phoning, again and again and again and again and again and again and again!! We live too far away to be spontaneous!! When we finally plucked up courage to just turn up, the restaurant was empty. I mentioned thar we had tried ringing on numerous occasions, the staff just smiled and said, the phone never rings. I'd like to go back but do I ring or just not bother??!!

Thanks for visiting. 99% of bookings are placed via the booking system online. We do answer the phone but we are a late night business so the phone is only manned after 5pm. Quite simply the most delicious and special roast I have ever tasted! The meats were so tender they literally melted in your mouth and the vegetables were next level, the layers of flavour were unbelievable. My husband was laughing at my 'happy food' face, but it's not just about the food - which was outstanding, the whole experience was exceptional from the genuine staff to the laid back ambiance, I haven't felt as relaxed in a long time, even our 5 year old was chilled while he chomped on his freshly made chicken chunks and chips, which is nothing short of a miracle in itself. I'm just gutted we waited so long to try it as now we have a long wait until the roasts are back in the autumn as they go full on tapas for the summer months but that definitely won't stop me returning to try the tapas too. My new favourite in Portishead. Thank you Venga for such a wonderful all round experience, your care and attention to what you do shines out

We had the Sunday roast and it was amazing. Cooked brilliantly and the flavour was great plus there was plenty of food each (this was a take away meal) so it meant after enjoying it so much once the food had gone down from lunch I was able to enjoy a tasty mid afternoon snack. Will be having again and telling plenty of friends about it.

Venga have done a marvellous job working hard to provide as close to a proper high quality tapas bar/restaurant as is possible in Covid time. The welcome was as warm as ever and though the usual comforting hustle and bustle was inevitably missing, you still enjoyed the quirky ambience. The food was superb and the unusual circumstances don't seem to have restricted the wide choice of tapas much, if at all. We didn't eat in the covered garden but had a look- it looks really good and will hopefully enable the restaurant to continue comfortably into the autumn and winter. We will be back

Traveling from North Wales heading for Minehead. After a dreadful long and stressful journey arrived at Venga to find they were no longer serving lunches nor, despite my booking, have any food left. Not happy about leaving this bad review but that's what happened . Very Very disappointed

We had a fantastic time in a great venue with fabulous service and was very impressed with all the measures which have been put in place for COVID-19.
Just would prefer the smoking area to be at the front of the building as we were right next to it when eating our meal.

As one of our party was Vegan, it would have been helpful to have an option on the Sunday menu or more options on the Tapas menu.

We ordered Venga’s Sunday roast dinner takeaway - lamb and beef - and really enjoyed the experience. Both meats were tasty and tender, the range of vegetables was very good and beautifully cooked. As for the gravy...... yummy (delicious cold next day) and a real homemade Yorkshire pud, too. A nice touch was the cauliflower cheese being put in its own container. Highly recommended.
