We were "ladies that lunch" today, not a regular occurrence i might add. One of us had a birthday & I booked The Butchers Arms as I'd visited in the past. We were not disappointed! Everything was exvellant, thank yiu so much. The ambiance- warm log fire going, subtle lighting, which was just right! The service was so good, nothing was too much trouble! The food, excellent, well cooked , hot & beautifully presented ! Then it was dessert time , all arrived at the table, amazing, decadent, quite large portions but mostly empty plates at the end ! Mmmm .... We had a lovely time, thank you so much . We will be back

We had a warm welcome, the pub was nicely warm with a lovely atmosphere. We attended to promptly with drinks arriving quickly. The food arrived at a reasonable waiting time eg around 20mins. It looked appetising, was well presented, and there was a generous amount. There was an excellent variety of veg, however the carrots and cauliflower cheese needed to be cooked a little longer. The staff were attentive but not annoying. I would say the pub price wise was at the higher end but well worth it.

As soon as you walk into The Butchers Arms, you can see it is all beautifully clean and polished and somebody has taken a lot of time and trouble over the decoration of the pub. There are pretty little lamps and stylish details around every corner. The food was absolutely delicious and most of it is local produce of an excellent quality; there are so many very good farmers and food producers in this area. It was cooked to perfection and looked fabulous on the plate. My husband and I had a lovely evening and we were very well looked after and made to feel very special. Ten out of ten for everything; I can not recommend The Butchers Arms more highly.

Since moving to the area and having tried many pubs etc, our firm favourite is always the Butchers. It is consistently good and the staff are so friendly and welcoming and accommodating with the food in allowing us to swap an item from the menu if I couldn’t eat something. The food is always of a high standard and I like the fact that they season their food at the time of cooking, and making the food even more tasty and enjoyable than without. Even before you walk in the door you know it's going to be good from the smell wafting out of the kitchen. The service was exceptional - I have never felt more comfortable ordering a wheat free meal. Went to the Butchers Arms for Sunday Lunch, walked into the pub and was taken to our table, The waiter arrived and ordered drinks and food as we had been recommended the Roast beef. Drinks arrived shortly followed by our meals. The food was well presented, hot and very generous portions and very good. This was followed by Bread and Butter pudding and Biscoff Cheesecake, again very generous portions and very nice All in all a cracking pub oozing charm, excellent service and serving very good food.

Our favourite place to eat, we feel so lucky to have The Butchers on our doorstep. Fantastic menu selection. The food is always very well presented and extremely tasty. Service is very friendly and efficient.

Our first visit (shamefully as we are so local) - the kind and friendly service was wonderful and it was one of the best steak meals we’ve ever had. What a beautiful, fantastic pub to have on our doorstop, we feel very lucky.

Always superb at the Butchers arms. Scott and Kerry are running the best pub you can go to for food. Classic grub done so consistently well. It's faultless. Brilliant beer, lovely atmosphere. It's why we come again and again and again!
