It was originally built as a residence in 1897 by the Mann Brothers who operated a sawmill back by our waterfall. It has since been a boarding house over the years run by the German's, Norwegian's & Italian's. For a long time it was known as George & Lil's who lived here and ran it from the late fifties to the early eighties. It was also briefly known as Bruno's Italian Restaurant for two years in the mid-eighties. After sitting vacant and in shambles for 22 years, it was purchased by Joan Powers and David Savatteri who lovingly restored it to its former glory and opened the Mill Pond Inn & Tavern in 2019. We always enjoy our dinner visits to The Inn at Mill Pond when we are in the Jefferson area and this visit kept that “tradition” going. The grounds are beautiful with plants in bloom, wonderful ambience inside , gracious hosts and servers, delicious food and prompt service. Lailani was a great server once again. We feel we get wonderful value for the entire experience. Please consider adding a few mocktails to your menu; the bartender crafted a yummy “Ginger Squared” for me. My husband enjoyed the “0” Heineken beer.

Relaxed and friendly. No rush, fantastic food, beverage and service. The Inn rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable. Access to a small Roku or similar TV would have been appreciated but it is good to take a break from media, too. We will always be returning to this lovely gem for sure!

Appetizers were exceptional and loved the vanilla ice cream. I was hard pressed to find entrees on the menu that conformed to my dietary needs. Oh waitress wax very understanding and aimed to please. I finally got the barrata pasta with no olives or tomatoes and added chicken. My chicken was not done. Pink to red inside and was unable to eat it. I would have thought the waitress would take this off my bill since we had to take it hone and bake it the rest of the way. I am happy to have this restaurant in the County I live in, but I don't think I will come again.

My husband and I go to Mill Pond often for dinner. This was our first brunch there and won’t be our last. First off it’s so cozy and inviting. They always have great live music and the service is elegant. The brunch table had everything you would want in a brunch. Beautiful carving station, omelette station, bagels and lox, fresh fruit and more. Let’s not forget the desserts. Cupcakes, muffins cream puffs, eclairs. It was all so delicious!

This is really the only restaurant that we frequent in our upstate area. When we want to go out to dinner its either the Mill Pond or the long drive down to Rockland County, New York or Bergen County, New Jersey. Don't know why this area is such a food desert for upscale restaurants. The food at the Mill Pond is delicious, the staff and the owners are lovely people and the setting is magical with occasional sightings of the wildlife that frequent the large pond. Don't get me wrong this is not a stuffy restaurant - you're in the country so wear your casual clothes.

Our family really enjoys going to the Mill Pond Inn. The food is delicious and the setting and ambiance is absolutely lovely. The staff is always helpful, polite and attentive. There is nothing to improve upon in our opinion! We will continue to dine here in the future. Well done!

My husband can't eat onions or garlic. The chef was able to accomodate this request, but we ordered a green salad because onions were not listed as part of it, and they were in it. The menu should be more clear about ingredients. The food was excellent.

Mill Pond has been our family's go-to for years, and it never fails to impress. The thoughtful touches, from live music to the charming Photo Booth and engaging activities for kids, showcase their attention to detail. Stepping inside feels like entering a second home, with inviting fireplace and cozy couches in the main dining area. The owners, who consistently exude pride, personally greet us each time, ensuring a seamless experience. The culinary offerings are consistently spectacular, making it a standout dining destination. I can't emphasize enough how genuinely wonderful our experiences have been.

Even though we were at the early seating, the staff was ready. We love the quiet setting that allows good conversations to be heard, no loud music. When ever we want to treat ourselves or others...we go to the Mill Pond.

My experience is always wonderful. The restaurant has a warmth and ambiance that makes you come back again and again. The music is lovely. Tony Romano classical guitarist is superb. David is an awesome host.
