The staff, food and position of the restaurant were excellent however felt the ambiance was rather more cafe than restaurant, this is a very personal opinion and I realise many people would like this. I’d like a warmer atmosphere however this will not stop me booking again!!

Excellent venue, great views. Overall the experience was above average with some minor issues which need review and relates to initial table service settling in, menus and drink order and extended period between order and delivery to table, just under 1 hour which is 20 minutes too long more so where children are involved. Nevertheless an enjoyable visit and one which will prompt a return.

Didn't realise when booking that they allow dogs - place smelt of wet dog.
1 of our party returned undercooked gammon steak for it to be replaced with an over salted unedible gammon steak.
No poppadoms served with the curry.
Topped macaroni was bland, missing the bbq sauce also.
The sticky toffee pudding was good though!

This was our 2nd trip to the View. Last time we had a lovely lunch this time it was the breakfast. We love the views and layout of the View - and want to come back more. However, this time the food was pretty poor. Most of the breakfast items were way overcooked and almost impossible to chew especially the bacon and the potato scones. It also took a long time for us to actually get the food ( I think it was around 45 minutes and the place was pretty empty). Staff are friendly but need to be more attentive to the tables and the speed at which they serve. We want to keep coming back but if the quality of food doesn't improve from this experience then we will find probably not do so.
These are not just moan complaints as we do want to return :)

Hi, the food was great. Just two small issues; the first was the beer, being the end of the keg, was not right but this was rectified ASAP. The second was with regard to the ginger sponge, already second choice as toffee apple crumble had run out! When this arrived it was actually lemon flavoured ginger sponge which was not listed on the menu and also the waitress failed to mention it. It was very nice but not quite what my son expected and given the choice of lemon ginger or sticky toffee he would have changed to sticky toffee. Otherwise overall it was lovely food and a pleasant experience, especially as the seating request to be by a window was fulfilled, thank you.

We were looking forward to visiting The View after hearing good reviews. We were disappointed with our experience. The food was bland and no one in our party enjoyed there food. We all had problems cutting our food. Not sure if all the food was tough or the knives were blunt. One of our party broke a tooth with the grilled chicken. Bad experience and none of us will be back.

Really enjoyed our evening at “the view”, great atmosphere and couldn’t fault the service. Will definitely be back again. The only thing I was disappointed with was the lack of choice on the menu for me as a coeliac. Most things were fried, or came with chips that weren’t done in a separate fryer. Perhaps a bigger range of options in the evening that aren’t fried? Nice to have pub style food but would also be nice to have some more variety like steaks or fish with mash or other potatoes for example. Looking at the menus there are plenty gluten free options at breakfast and lunch but evening was lacking. Having said that our meals were delicious, so nice to have another dining option in Newburgh.

Love the spacious, airy atmosphere with floor to ceiling windows with a view over the golf course. Staff very attentive and friendly and food delicious. The one way system to enter and exit has hand sanitizer stations at each point and spaces between tables are ample :)

Firstly, the young girls and service was spot on, however, my daughters chicken burger was very rubbery/chewy, the batter on my fish was really oily/greasy and my wife's burger was just an everyday Value beef burger! Chips varied from dish to dish, but weren't the best! The desserts were all well presented and tasty. Great views but the venue, with vaulted ceilings is quite loud with lots of background noise and echo. The toilets are shared with the golf course and weren't that tidy, with the towel bin brimming and used towels on the floor. To summarise - Disappointed!

But bill was still same, and no discount..
Sunday dinner was not tasty, or hot, and very poor quality, tinned peas, and not alot of gravy, and not a roast sunday dinner u would expect in a restaurant...

This was our first visit, but will definitely not be our last! Nice, clean restaurant with lovely sea and golf course outlook.
Service excellent, and food excellent. Fish was fresh and very tasty. A few children’s options and also the chance to choose smaller portions of some main menu dishes.

Lovely restaurant with beautiful views. With well spaced out tables and liked the separate entry and exit doors. Food was great, I struggle to get a big salad when eating out and it was perfect and the grilled chicken wasn’t oily, just like I asked for it to be. The ambience of the venue is unusual as the lighting is nice and relatively ‘cosy’ but the high ceilings make it a difficult setting to make intimate, it just felt very sparse.

Lovely food, fantastic view. Nice touch having a birthday balloon for my friend attached to the table. Few minor glitches - asked for no ice in drink, it came with ice. Asked for sauce to be separate from main meal, it came covered in the sauce. As I say all minor and could have been rectified if we’d really wanted. Pleasant staff and good value for money.?

What a relaxing atmosphere there is at the View - partly due to the stunning views around but also because the staff are very welcoming and engaging. There’s a great choice of meals on the menu (it took me ages to decide what to have for breakfast) & the quality of the food/presentation is fabulous. I can’t wait to go back.

Our only observations for improvement in the future are that if there were any specials on offer we were not informed about them. Also, the menu offered a “Pie of the Day” but we were not told what that was for the day we were there.
The staff we very friendly and the food was of good quality.

We all loved the food and the views are fantastic-a lovely place for a meal. The staff were very good, the only slight negative for me was the background music was a little to loud and made conversation difficult, would have preferred a quieter atmosphere.

Was really disappointed when we turned up for our meal to be told there was no evening menu. This would have been helpful if we had been told in advance. Plus the meal itself was disappointing as the batter on the fish and the chicken wasn’t cooked properly

Thank you for a fantastic lunch - food was first class with fresh ingredients. Staff are absolutely brilliant - they make you feel very special and if they aren't serving they are cleaning. They even went the extra mile by supplying a birthday balloon on the table. A very special feel good experience every time!! Staff are all a credit to you.

Unfortunately, we had to wait 50 mins for our food. Albeit, they advised us we would have to wait for up to an hour and apologised for this, but it was apparently due to the lunchtime rush! Don’t know if there was a particular reason for the restaurant to be unable to cope with this (I.e. kitchen staff shortage etc) but if they had told us this, we would have understood, but probably wouldn’t book again in a hurry otherwise. Food was good though and service staff were lovely.

Friendly staff but very slow service even though it was not busy. Food greasy over done especially chips if you are going to do onion rings make sure there is onion in them !
If you going to use blancher plate for chicken make sure that it's clean of other foods.
Not a patch on the previous visit last year hopefully it was a blip
